Directions & Travel

Harwell Campus, situated in a stunning rural location in south Oxfordshire, is just 20 minutes from the centre of Oxford, 10 minutes from Didcot Town Centre and at the heart of Science Vale UK. 

The Campus is ideally positioned for local, national and international science and enterprise and is a key part of Oxfordshire’s high value economic infrastructure.

The Campus is located directly off the A34 Euroroute, accessed from Junction 13 of the M4 motorway in less than 10 minutes (9 miles).  Junctions 8 and 9 of the M40 are both within 30 minutes of the Campus.

Harwell Connector a dedicated bus shuttle service, consisting of 4 buses per hour (in each direction) between 07:00 and 19:00 Monday to Friday, serving the Didcot Parkway Rail Station to Harwell Campus route (numbered X32 and 32A)
The Science Transit Shuttle minibus service runs every half an hour between 7am and 7pm connecting Harwell Campus to Oxford University for the use of people commuting between the two sites.
A Harwell LiftShare service enables members of the community to share spaces in cars commuting to and from Harwell. 
People working at Harwell Campus can benefit from a discount scheme with Oxford Bus Company.
London Heathrow and Southampton airports are less than one hour by road.  Oxford Airport, 30 minutes from the Harwell Campus, is expanding and currently runs scheduled flights that include Geneva and Jersey with connections to more than 1,000 airports across Europe.

Gatwick, Birmingham, Bristol and Luton airports can all be reached in less than 1.5 hours from the Campus.

Didcot Parkway Mainline Rail Station is only 5 miles away, with direct services to Central London (Paddington) in less than 45 minutes and Oxford City Centre in less than 15 minutes.  A frequent bus service from the Campus serves both Oxford and Didcot Parkway rail stations.
